“What the Fuck Is She Doing?”
I often find myself compelled to do things that others in my life find odd or perplexing – like ordering an entire truckload wood chips, shoveling gravel on a 90-degree day, building a fence in the rain, or planting flower bulbs in the dark. I’m regularly greeted by family members, friends, and neighbors asking me some version of: “What The Fuck Are You Doing?” I’ve decided to create this website in order to share my absurd journey.
I retired at the end of 2019 and, since then, have enjoyed spending time on pursuits that are most meaningful to me. Initially, I spent my time and energy sewing, grant writing, and working on various community-based art projects. More recently, I’ve been spending time at the mid-19th century house that has served as my extended family’s homestead since 2013; I’ve been tackling some overdue repairs and have begun transforming the yard to better serve the family’s current needs and, frankly, to amuse myself.
